Matt Lewis

I have spent my entire career advising and assisting clients with their residential leasehold relationships, along with managing teams providing these legal services.

I work closely with managing agents, leaseholders, leaseholder organisations, and landlords and can often be found speaking or writing on these topics.

I have an in depth understanding of transactional and contentious elements of long leasehold landlord and tenant relationships. In recent times, I have taken a specific interest in complex contentious enfranchisement and right to manage matters, along with the interrelationship of these areas with building safety.

I am delighted that my work within the sector has been noted by others. In addition to historic recognition, I have recently been recognised as finalist in the Solicitor of the Year category at the Enfranchisement & Right to Manage Awards.

I am very proud of my work as an honorary consultant of the Federation of Private Residents’ Associations (FPRA). I am a member of the Institute of Residential Property Managers (IRPM) (now part of the Property Institute (TPI)), and co-founder of Leasehold Management Professionals (LMP).

In my spare time, I can be found running around after my children or (sometimes whilst) watching the drama unfold at Elland Road, Leeds United Football Club!
