For many years, I have worked as a landlord and tenant lawyer, with experience in residential and commercial conveyancing, complex enfranchisement transactions, commonhold and in landlord and tenant litigation. In addition, I am delighted to be working as an editor with the publishers, Butterworths Law Books. My editing work includes updating their recent LexisNexis Commonhold, Enfranchisement, Contentious Enfranchisement editions and their Butterworths Property Law Service commercial quarterlies.
Separately, in 2018, I worked for the Law Commission as a leasehold reform lawyer for a year, before transferring to the Department of Levelling Up, Housing, Communities and Local Government, where I continue to advise on all aspects of the ongoing commonhold and leasehold reform.
I frequently speak at conferences, and work with firms of lawyers, managing agents and valuers to provide inhouse training on a range of topics, including commonhold. Recently, our firm has enjoyed penning the “commonhold versus leasehold” series, to help explain what commonhold is by reference to leasehold.
I have for many years provided a pro bono service for leaseholders in need of advice, working closely with various leasehold charities over the years. I continue to provide this service where I can.
