Paralegal or junior solicitor position

Summary of job role

This job description is to give you an indication of the proposed role. The role will involve working in our transactional, residential conveyancing or litigation team. Your preference will be discussed during the interview. If offered a position with us, we will take into consideration your preference but ultimately, you will be offered a position in the department where needed the most and based on the needs of the business.

Who we are

We are a unique firm of lawyers with an avid interest in commonhold, freehold, landlord and tenant law; this is our core and only business. We work and accept instructions across England and Wales, acting for both landlords, leaseholders, freehold house owners, managing agents, commonhold associations and commonholders.

In addition to our fee-based work, we also write industry textbooks and articles, and are frequent speakers at industry conferences. We work closely with MBL Seminars on both their enfranchisement and residential conveyancing training. We are delighted to have won various awards, including Solicitors Firm of the Year Awards 2023 at the Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards.

Why we are recruiting

Our area of law is in the process of being extensively reformed. As part of that, we are delighted to be expanding our team due to an already heavy case load and to assist us with the transition to the new laws.

We are looking to recruit before the reforms commence in earnest so that those who join us can benefit from the inhouse training on the reform changes, ready for when the reforms are implemented.

Career progression

We firmly believe in investing in the training of our team and assisting with their career progression. We factor in training not just on the law itself, but also with marketing and personal career development. For those interested, the role will lead to other roles, eventually leading to a consultant position.

Working structure

Depending on your location, it is intended that it will be a work from home position. We regularly meet as a team for social purposes.

We are a paperless office, using advanced software for effective case management. The business hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. If offered a position, we will discuss with you if you prefer full or part time. You will be working primarily with one supervisor / mentor but may also work with other fee earners as and when required. Full training will be given.
